Leibo Tea Series – Packaging DesignDate | 2024.2 - 2024.8

The visual identity highlights high-mountain, handpicked, and pesticide-free teas from Leibo County, with a focus on local culture and refined material craftsmanship. The project includes two distinct product lines:

Series I: Jasmine Tea
For the jasmine tea series, the Yi character for "water" was abstracted into a seamless four-way graphic pattern. This motif was combined with hand-drawn tea leaves and jasmine flowers. Through the use of negative space and traditional Chinese aesthetic principles, the design expresses a subtle and culturally grounded identity.

Series II: High-Mountain Green Tea
This series draws visual inspiration from Rhododendron leiboense, Lake Mawu, and traditional Yi tea-picking rituals. Featuring custom illustrations and a palette based on classic Chinese colors like Guan Green, the packaging reflects the region’s unique terroir and cultural heritage.

Individual square boxes are produced using colorless intaglio printing on coated whiteboard paper, creating subtle textures and depth. The boxed gift sets use laser-cut patterns on long sleeve boxes, adding a tactile and sophisticated layer to the unboxing experience.

This was a team project. I served as the visual lead, overseeing layout, color direction, and illustration development for the jasmine tea series.
