In China, animal release has a history of over a thousand years. But in recent times, the purpose of animal release has become more complex. It has gradually transformed into a profit-driven and morally ambiguous industry. Fish, snakes, and even rare animals are "purchased" by affluent buyers.
This distorted practice of animal release poses a significant threat to the local ecosystem. I designed this exhibition based on the Buddhist concept of the "Six Realms of Rebirth." By combining mechanical sensing devices, videos, and printed materials. My exhibition uses interactive installations to satirize and criticize this phenomenon and prompt reflection among viewers.
